The Perl package contains the Practical Extraction and Report Language.
Prepare Perl for compilation:
sh Configure -des -Dprefix=/tools -Dlibs=-lm
Build the package:
make
Although Perl comes with a test suite, it would be better to wait until it is installed in the next chapter.
Only a few of the utilities and libraries need to be installed at this time:
cp -v perl cpan/podlators/scripts/pod2man /tools/bin mkdir -pv /tools/lib/perl5/5.24.0 cp -Rv lib/* /tools/lib/perl5/5.24.0
